TAI CHI: MOVING FOR BETTER BALANCE

The last class for better balance from Jan through March at The 1st United Methodist Church on Marion ended April 3. We all had a great time.

The really fun part about Tai Chi and QiGong is that no matter where you are, you can always practice.

We have been doing some traveling this year and enjoy sharing our Tai Chi with others.

If you have any pictures about your tai chi, please send to us at peacerivertaichi@gmail.com and we will post. Share your fun with others.

July 9, 2016 Mary Cel and Richard Curtis participated in the International Chinese Martial Arts Championships (ICMAC) at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Richard was awarded a Bronze medal in the Advanced Men's Yang 24 event. This year the age divisions were deleted, so we were competing against all ages.

Mary Cel earned the Gold medal in the Advanced Women"s Yang 24 and a Bronze in the Tai Chi Saber

Sword Advanced Women's division.

Mary Cel was interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel. Here is the link to that article:

The Punta Gorda Herald was kind enough to do a pictorial piece ... always nice when I am out of town how the older students will just jump in and help out...Thank you, Lou and Paul.

The 3 hour workshop with Dr. David Miller on the 8 Healing Sounds of Yin Style Ba Gua Sat. July 23 was another success.

All 37 of the people that attended were enthralled with Dr. Miller's knowledge and his sense of humor.

The main question now is when will he come again? Hopefully this Fall. Keep watching the website as well as our Facebook page.

My Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance class has come to an end. After 2 classes a week for 12 weeks we started to feel like family. It is sad ending the class, but very rewarding to watch them all complete the form correctly.

I want to thank this class for a fun 12 weeks. I KNOW you will all keep practicing......

Hope to see you at the Park on Saturdays.
